Abstract: In the rapid expansion of urban space, the relationship between suburbs and cities has undergone a butterfly change from parasitism to symbiosis. A new urban space form which was named the edge city has developed. It is not only radiated by the dispersion effect of the central city, but also influenced by the integration effect of the metropolitan circle. Besides, there is a kind of agglomeration effect in the edge city, which can absorb the opportunity of production factors such as labor and capital. However, through the observation of the floating population, it is found that while the opportunities are absorbed in edge cities, there is also a certain degree of spatial alienation. The division of occupational and residential space is becoming more and more intense, and the problems of spatial consolidation and social stratification are also gradually revealed. The key to resolve there problemms lies in the “centralization” construction of edge cities. Therefore, it is necessary to transform the centralmarginal a symmetric dependence relationship through functional adjustment, and to promote the return of urban justice through the reconstruction of distribution system, so as to truly realize the development goal of integrating independence and people’s character.
