Abstract: Lu You produced many poems and made comments during his journey to Sichuan Province. In A Diary of the Journey to Sichuan, he was in favor of quoting poems from about 180b pieces of more than 40 schools. Experiencing the place in person motivated Lu You’s association with the relative poems. He made relative and impromptu comments and explanations on these neglected poems by the poetic theorists as well as himself, clarifying the past vague concepts. In retrospect, he expressed several opinions towards scholars of the past, including distinctive comments on Li Bai, Mei Yaochen, Jianqi Tablet and rhythmical prose characterized by parallelism and ornateness, which embodied his novel and insightful view of literary criticism. In addition, the poems of various schools quoted in A Diary of the Journey to Sichuan Still have possessed collative and compiling values nowadays.
