From July 6th to 7th, The International Seminar on Green Development and Social Governance hosted by Sichuan University and the Institute of Political Science of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was held in Chengdu. The conference was organized by the School of Public Administration of Sichuan University and the Center for Public Administration of the Institute of Political Science of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. More than 160 experts and scholars from Oxford University, Syracuse University, Hong Kong City University, Hong Kong University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Renmin University of China, Sichuan University and other well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad, and the heads and editors of well-known domestic journals and magazines participated in the forum.
Professor Yan Shijing, Vice President of Sichuan University, Professor Fang Ning, Secretary of Committee of the Institute of Political Science of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences of CPC, Professor Zhang Mingjun, Vice President of East China University of Political Science and Law, and Thomas Nathan Hale, an associate professor of Blavatnik School of Government at University of Oxford attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Shi Yungui, President of the School of Public Administration of Sichuan University.
The keynote report part of the seminar was presided over by Professor Jiang Xiaoping, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor and Secretary of Committee of the School of Public Administration of Sichuan University of CPC. Professor Gao Jian of Tianjin Normal University, Vice President of the Chinese Political Society, Professor Zhou Ping of Yunnan University, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, Professor He Ying, former President of Heilongjiang University, Professor Yu Jianxing of Zhejiang University, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, Professor Jin Taijun of Nanjing Audit University, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, and Professor Ou Minghao of Nanjing Agricultural University respectively made wonderful report at the conference.
The seminar included six branch sessions of green development and green governance, local government governance innovation, social governance innovation, urban development and public policy, grassroots democracy and community governance, and the young scholars forum, as well as journal editors and scholars exchange meeting and the public management discipline construction forum. These are aimed to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in the fields of green development and social governance, respond to the challenges faced in current green development and social governance theory and practice, and improve the research quality of green development and social governance. Meanwhile, it can also provide valuable theoretical and practical innovations for promoting the global development of the world and the country and the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, and the international strategic thinking of building a beautiful China and building a community of shared future for mankind .
