The Third Yangtze River Economic Belt Development High-End Dialogue(Yibin) was held in Yibin on April 14th. Zhang Junkuo, deputy director of Development Research Center of the State Council, and Li Houqiang, the secretary of CPC Committee of Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences, delivered keynote speeches. Huang He, vice secretary of CPC Committee of Yibin, attended the conference and made speech.
This high-end dialogue was hosted by Renmin University of China and organized by the Yangtze River Economic Belt Research Institute of Renmin University of China. Themed by "Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt—Retrospect and Prospect at the Anniversary of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Symposium Convened by General Secretary Xi Jinping", the conference gathered the intelligence of experts and discussed development strategy in order to strengthen the cohesion and combat effectiveness of Yibin in the process of quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, improve the influence and competitiveness of Yibin at home and abroad and serve national and regional development strategy.
Li Houqiang pointed out in his speech that Yibin is the starting point of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. The development of Yibin has five opportunities and four challenges.
The five opportunities are ecological construction, transportation corridor, industrial transfer, urban construction and opening-up. The four challenges are as follows: first, the economic aggregate is small; second, the level of county economic development is not high; third, the urban construction is relatively lagging behind; fourth,, the industrial structure needs to be optimized.
During the event, Luo Laijun, dean of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Research Institute of Renmin University of China reiterated The Yangtze River Declaration, and experts and scholars from China Academy of Environmental Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, East China Normal University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and other institutes focused on the economic situation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, green development, coordinated opening up, ecological construction and other key areas, and launched dialogue and exchange.
At the sub-session of the round-table dialogue, the participants also had in-depth exchanges on the two topics of "How to Build a Modernized Economic System in the Yangtze River Economic Belt" and "How to Realize‘One Chess Board’ Development in the 11 Provinces (Cities) of the Yangtze River Economic Belt".
