Jointly organized by the International Department of Central Committee of CPC and Renmin University of China, the 27th Wanshou Forum was held in Beijing on February 28th. Leaders of 13 communist parties from 10 countries in Europe, America and Latin America had in-depth exchanges with Chinese experts and scholars around the theme of the forum, which is “Building of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind and Development of World Socialism”. The forum is aimed at building an interactive bridge of ideas, promoting the sharing of knowledge and experience, and contributing to the world socialist development and human progress through the exchange of ideas between CPC and Communist Parties from other countries.
Guo Yezhou, vice minister of the International Department of Central Committee of CPC, said at the opening ceremony that CPC is a party that seeks happiness for the Chinese people and strives for the cause of human progress. In the face of the changing world and increasingly severe global problems, the Chinese communists represented by President Xi Jinping explicitly put forward the important thoughts of building a community of shared future for mankind, which fully reflects the essence and value of Chinese traditional culture and the global view, human feelings and missions of contemporary Chinese communists. It has become the bright banner of diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in a new era.
Representatives from Europe, America and Latin America attending the forum spoke highly of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially the concept of a community of shared future for mankind. It is widely believed that this important concept and initiative embodies CPC's aspiration and responsibility for the world, and points out the direction and specific path for improving global governance, balancing world development, promoting mutual learning among civilizations and promoting win-win cooperation.
Launched and hosted by the International Department of Central Committee of CPC in early 2016, the Wanshou forum sets up several sections, including Wanshou lecture hall, Wanshou dialogue and Wanshou round table. It aims to provide an open and inclusive international dialogue platform for political leaders, think tank scholars and representatives of non-governmental organizations, and contribute to building a community of shared future for mankind and a better world.
