The Second High-end Academic Forum of Humanities and Social Sciences Held

The Second High-end Academic Forum of Humanities and Social Sciences of Yanshan University, that is the International Symposium for Young Scholars on "Public Governance Frontiers and Innovations" , hosted by the Department of Social Sciences of Yanshan University and undertaken by the School of Humanities and Law, was held in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, on December 29th. More than 70 experts and scholars from nearly 30 universities and research institutes at home and abroad attended the meeting. This conference was held both online and on the spot. Zhao Xianfeng,Party Secretary of Yanshan University, Wang Desong,Vice President of the University , Guo Jinping,Dean of the School of Humanities and Law, and Wang Wenjie, Chairman of Qinhuangdao Federation of Social Science Associations, attended the opening ceremony,which was hosted by Wang Desong.

Zhao Xianfeng said that the holding of this forum has established an academic exchange platform for domestic and foreign public management experts, especially for young scholars, and will further promote the development of Yanshan University's public management discipline and humanities and social sciences.

Zheng Zhifeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities and Law, presided over the academic report session of the conference. Zhang Jiahui, Director of the First Research Office of the Social Development Research Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council, made a theme report entitled "Improving the Top-level Design and Promoting the Pilot Program of Long-term Care Insurance".

Several experts, including Professor Xu Xiaolin, Professor of the School of Public Administration of Hunan Agricultural University, Professor He Wensheng, Dean of the School of Management of Lanzhou University, Professor Zhang Xuewen, Associate Dean of Business School of Hebei Normal University, etc., made keynote speeches on Construction of a Social Governance System in Major Public Health Emergencies”, Smart City Construction and Governance”,"Volunteer Service Issues in Public Crisis Response" and some other topics.

In the afternoon, five parallel forums was held. Combining their research direction, Participants made exchanges and discussions on the themes of "Public Governance Theory", "Digital Government Governance", "Public Crisis Management", "Urban and Rural Community Governance" and "Public Affairs Governance". This forum has built a communication bridge between experts and scholars in universities at home and abroad, promoted academic exchanges in the humanities and social sciences, enhanced the influence of public management discipline and the humanities and social sciences, and attracted widespread attention in related academic fields at home and abroad.
