CHENGDU, Oct. 23-- The 7th National Forum on Marxist Ethics was held in Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
The forum is co-sponsored by Moral Education Research Center, Tsinghua University, the School of Marxism, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Ethics and Moral Construction Research Center, Renmin University of China. With the theme of one hundred years of modernization and the historical mission of Marxist Ethics, experts, scholars and journal leaders from more than 50 universities across the country participated.
In the main venue, Li Deshun, a tenured professor from China University of Political Science and Law, discussed the connotation of value from the perspective of practical materialism, with the topic of transcending traditional value thinking, Zhou Zhongzhi, a professor of Marxism School of Shanghai Normal University, expounded the practical logic of Marxism ethics in contemporary China,on the basis of summarizing historical experience, Long Jingyun, a professor from the School of Marxism in Central China Normal University, discussed the social responsibility of entertainers in the new era, Zhang Xiao, deputy dean of the School of Philosophy, Renmin University of China, systematically expounded the basic structure of Marxist ethics, Xiao Wei, professor of the School of Marxism, Tsinghua University, discussed the thinking on the politics of life in light of the current COVID-19 prevention and control practices, Duan Jiangbo, a professor from the School of Marxism of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, interpreted the historical mission of the Communist Party of China’s moral construction in one hundred years from the perspective of rebuilding the ethical order and creating moral “new people”, etc.
In the sub-meeting, experts and scholars conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the historical mission of the CPC’s moral construction in the past 100 years, Marxist ethical and moral theory, Marxist ethical practice in the new era, Marxist theory of justice, Marxist moral outlook and other aspects.
It’s agreed that since its founding 100 years ago, the CPC has been committed to its original mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, and has written a magnificent chapter in history in leading the Chinese people in their great journey of standing up, becoming rich and strong. On the occasion of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, it is of great academic value and practical significance for the Forum to review the history of the spread and development of Marxist ethics in China, and to reflect on the historical mission and responsibility of Marxist ethics in promoting China to become a great modern socialist country.
