May 18th, China’s Rural Economic Situation Analysis & Prediction Workshop, and Rural Green Book (2019-2020), (Hereinafter referred to as “Green Paper”) was held online. Cai Fang, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Cai Fang pointed out that 2020 is the year when the goal of finishing building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the year marks the end of battle against poverty. To accomplish these two goals, we must overcome the last bastion of poverty alleviation and strengthen our weak links in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects in agriculture, rural areas and farmers, while three issues must be to pay close attention to in this process.
Xie Shouguang, president of Social Sciences Academic Press(China), Researcher Li Guoxiang of CASS, Huang Bingxin, former chief of Rural Socio-economic Survey Department, National Bureau of Statistics, Ye Xingqing, minister of Department of Rural Affairs, Development Research Center of the State Council, etc. gave speeches and opinions separately.
